Scoreboard and Touch pads
The scoring is based upon the players identification system: both players decide
(after the warming-up) who plays red and who plays grey. Both the touch pads and the scoreboard are colour coded, red 'R' and grey 'G'.
The two touch pads are mounted in the left and right sidewalls near the service boxes. The scoreboard is mounted in the front wall, close to the ceiling.
The players can update the score using the touch pads.
- The toss is carried out by simultaneously depressing the START and RESET sensors on the touch pad. The lights above the score indicate who serves and on which side.
- After each rally the winner depresses either the 'R' or the 'G' sensor on one of the touch pads. The light updates the score.
- If the last point of the game is scored, the score of the winning player will flash temporarily while one of the lights is illuminated below the score indicating that a game is won.
- The START sensor is depressed at the start of each new game.
- Incase a mistake is made when updating the score; the RESET sensor can be depressed. In doing this the previous score is regained (maximum three times in a row).
- The FAULT light flashes if the infra-red zone is struck either by the ball or any other object. Additionally a five folded audible signal sounds through loudspeakers, integrated in both touch pads.
